In case you were wondering after reading my just-posted comment on Mike Trout, here five best Groundout Into DP Percents in the AL last year (min. 50 GIDP ops):

Whit Merrfield 1.49

Jarrod Saltalamacchia 1.79

Max Kepler 2.44

Mike Trout 3.05

Byron Buxton 3.08

Saltalamacchia?

This time not for the Nabobs, but Cheslor is the balm for losing (the cheap) Moustakas for the year.

The Royals made a rather incredible comeback against the White Sox today. Yost magic? They have it!

Walter belongs to the If You Wish It It Will Happen school. Don't we all?

For the Nattering Nabobs it happens annoyingly often.

Adding to the Royals 2B intrigue is the fact that Chelsor Cuthbert, who can hit, is taking ground balls at second base. If the Royals are going to release Infante, it could come on Saturday when Moustakas comes off the DL. In that case, it is possible that Merrifield and Cuthbert would end up sharing 2B. Of course, Merrifield and Cuthbert sounds like an old-time gentleman's clothier.

The real question is:  with that name, why isn't he a lacrosse player?

I took him on reserve in the ADL because I'd read somewhere that he was going to be KC speed guy while Dyson was on the DL, but then he wasn't and I forgot about him until yesterday, when he was promoted and Christian Colon (who'd been playing everyday and hitting .300+ for the last week) was mysteriously demoted.

Here's what Rotoworld said: The Royals drafted Merrifield in the ninth round of the 2010 draft. He has yet to accumulate any at-bats at the major league level. For his minor league career, the 27-year-old outfielder owns a triple-slash of .274/.344/.399. There is no fantasy intrigue here.

What Rotoworld missed is that Merrifield has five homers and 16 steals in Triple-A this year. Plus, in the ADL, he qualifies at 1B, 2B, 3B and OF. Plus, it seems like KC is likely to DFA Omar Infante, since he can't play everyday, and according to KC watchers Ned Yost is down on Colon because of attitude issues.

For all I know Merrifield could be sent down this morning, but I'm intrigued.
