I've seen it reported as high as 12 $223. There are obviously performance and MVP voting incentives in the deal, but we'll have to wait for all of the details to see how valuable it may be.

Signed an 11 year, $182 million extension.  This is the deal that Acuna should have gotten.  I'd be thrilled if I were a Ray's fan.  A gamble?  Clearly yes, but $200+ million upside. Just look at Correa or Tatis.  If he stays healthy, the Ray's win.  If not, his great-great grandchildren are set for life.

He got to 43 and is tied with Frank Robinson. If he reaches base the rest of the season (which isn't much) he will have a terrific narrative for ROY.  His control of the stirkezone is incredible if you watch his ABs.

He just hit a double to reach for the 41st consecutive game.  Only 2 behind the great Frank Robinson for most ever age 20 or younger.

Tied Mickey Mantle's AL record. Next stop, Frank Robinson's Major League record for players under 21. The way his adjustment has happened, he's got a chance to reach .300 by the end of the season.  Can he steal the ROY from his teammate Arozarena despite only half a season in the league?

Creeping ever closer to Mickey Mantle's consecutive on base streak of 36 for players under 21.  This time with a HR.

With his 6th inning single against the Orioles, he's got 28 consecutive games on base.

The young fella is finally starting to heat up.  The second youngest player in the AL this year is his teammate Luis PatiƱo, who is 17 months older than Franco.  He's 14 months younger than the youngest NL player. I'm pretty sure he'll start next year and likely finish it as the youngest player in the AL, maybe all of MLB.

Showing his youth he made a headfirst slide into home scoring from first on a double even though the throw didn't come through. He was a little shaken up on the non-play.  Could have been chalk in his eyes or maybe a faceplate. No more headfirst slides.

Double and triple, driving in two, as the Rays move within a half game of the Red Sox.
