Rough stretch or the league catching up to him OR command issues causing too many pitches to wind up in the middle of the plate? K/W Apr 1.86; May 2.56.

Pounded by the Pads yesterday. May has not been a merry month.

How about this:

Walk - thrown out stealing
Walk - thrown out stealing
Walk
Walk
Walk
Walk

On the final walk, the runner on third base didn't touch home plate. Before the next pitch, the pitcher steps off the rubber and appeals that the runner from third didn't touch home. The ump grants the appeal.

Inning over, no runs. 6 walks.

Last pitcher to walk 4 in an inning without allowing a run- Coco Cordero Sept 27, 2011 vs Mets.

Right you are. So five is the record!

The only way you can top 4 and not allow a run is 2 walks with both runners thrown out stealing or picked off then 3 more walks then getting the 3rd out.

Put that way, I guess he has to have tied a record.

Walked four in the 1st inning tonight, but did not allow a run. Not sure I have seen that before. Great recovery.
