Shut down for 4-6 weeks with a humerus issue that isn't humorous. I think he can be safely removed from the CIW lists. I'm now unsure I'll keep him at $1 in a keeper league - that is a long time to wait and hope.

Well I guess I should have believed my own eyes...
05.03: Trevor May will undergo another MRI exam on his injured triceps on Tuesday.(The right-hander confessed to the media after Monday's game that he's still not 100 percent healthy and that his triceps is still bothering him and impacting the way that he pitches. Regardless of what the MRI shows, it's hard to believe that the Mets could throw him back out there with that knowledge in hand. It seems extremely likely that a trip to the injured list is in the cards here.)

What I think when I see how the Mets are using him lately: he is clearly the top setup man and next-in-line to close.
What I think when I watch him pitch lately: that "low-grade" triceps strain didn't just magically go away.
In other words, I'm worried about his near and medium-term future.

He'll be back in there later today. He was diagnosed with a low-grade triceps strain on April 12, which made sense after he gave up runs in his first two outings. I thought he was heading for an IL stint so pulled him. That strain must have been very low-grade?

And yet not showing in Top 3 @ https://prospect361.com/tims-stage/closer-report/ ?

Still might be the most talented pitcher in the Mets' bullpen. I have grabbed him and I'm happy to see him used as rhe Diaz alternative.

I'm thinking about taking a blanket to Citi Field this afternoon.
VULTURE SAVE WATCH
Today
1. Mychal Givens – David Robertson has gone back to back.
2. Robert Suarez – Taylor Rogers has gone back to back.
3-6. Ian Kennedy/Kyle Finnegan/Jake McGee/Trevor May – The Diamondbacks, Nats, Giants, and Mets all have doubleheaders today.

Closer Monkey:
New York Mets – Edwin Diaz returned from mourning the loss of his grandfather to close out Tuesday’s win. Trevor May is day-to-day after an MRI showed a “very, very low-grade triceps strain,” and he should avoid an IL stint.
Hierarchy remains: Diaz | Lugo | May.
