Maybe, just maybe, their bullpen saviour will come in the form of a Triple-A stud starter? I really think we see Hunter Greene pitching out of the pen in Cinci sometime in September.

At a point where the Reds are still desperate for a solid RP, their great hope, Antone, lasts 5 pitches. He is due for TJ (no pun intended) surgery x 2. The other great hopes, Lorenzen (returning from the DL), Givens, and Cessa all contributed to yet another blown victory by this awful bullpen. Sadly, the Reds really did nothing to improve themselves at the deadline, likely wasting incredible seasons by Castellanos (and likely his last as a Red), Votto, Winkler, Naquin, and others. Front office needs to be run out of town... even if they hang onto the wild card, they are unlikely to get out of the first round.  Sounds like the Bengals...

The rating shows how good he's been when he could pitch.

Manager David Bell said Antone was removed from Tuesday's loss to the Brewers after the right-hander "felt something" in his elbow, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Antone missed the past two months with a strained forearm and was activated from the injured list earlier Tuesday, and he lasted only five pitches before exiting with the elbow issue. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to the injured list given he's dealing with another arm problem.

Cincinnati Reds – Tejay Antone was activated from the IL this morning and should reclaim a high-leverage position in Cincinnati’s committee. Given how short he was out, it should be safe to get him back into your lineup right away.

Updated hierarchy: *Sims | Antone | Hembree.
* = closer-by-committee

For sure. Let history record that after the first month his BABIP is .133, his G/L/F 67/4/29.

Sims was struggling to find the strike zone last night and with Garrett and Doolittle both available, the Reds turned to Antone to get the final out and his first save. In Mixed Leagues at CBS Antone is rostered at only 35%. I have a hunch that's about to change.

Cincinnati Reds — Sean Doolittle came through in a big way for the Reds on Tuesday, throwing a perfect ninth inning to record his first save since game one of the 2019 World Series. Lucas Sims and Tejay Antone both threw a lot of pitches on Monday and Amir Garrett can’t be trusted right now, so no surprise that Doolittle got the call. Antone is the best reliever the Reds have at the moment, but it remains to be seen how consistently he’ll pitch the eighth and ninth innings, or if he’ll eventually move to the rotation. He’s certainly worth rostering given his numbers, that’s for sure.

Updated hierarchy: *Sims | Doolittle | Antone.
* = closer-by-committee

Pitching well but with Reds injuries (Gray, maybe Antone himself, maybe Lorenzen), the talk is that Antone will be a multi-inning bullpen guy (think Freddy Peralta). He does have stuff as his 2020 tells you. I expect him to go in the end game for a $1 or early reserve. Depending on if your team is ready to win this year or more playing for next year will decide where you go with him. Playing for next year, I'd go to $3 or $4.
