Closer Monkey:
Baltimore Orioles — Paul Fry picked up the win yesterday, but it was because he came on in the fifth inning. Fry hasn’t gotten a save since June 4th and his ERA has jumped two runs in that time. Cole Sulser recorded the Orioles’ most recent save but has struggled since, giving up at least one run in his last three appearances. Tanner Scott struck out a pair in a scoreless inning yesterday and has the lowest ERA in the Orioles’ bullpen so we will move him to the top of the committee, but we wouldn’t recommend rushing out and picking up any Orioles’ reliever.
Updated hierarchy: *Scott | Sulser | Fry.

When you have five closers, that means you have NO closer. I think Bill James once said when you have seven candidates for your rotation, you have depth; when you have eleven candidates, you have confusion.

According to Roster Resource, we have not one, not two, not three -- but five closers to choose from on the O's.

In our league, the substantial number of O's fans will corral the entire Orioles' bullpen. It never fails.

From the Closer Monkey:
Baltimore Orioles — Brandon Hyde confirmed that it’ll be a committee handling Baltimore’s closing duties in Hunter Harvey’s absence, but with Cesar Valdez getting stretched out to possibly start, we think Tanner Scott, Shawn Armstrong, and Paul Fry have the best shots. The sheer number of options (including Cole Sulser, Dillon Tate, and Travis Lakins) — and, just as importantly, their mediocrity — continues to counsel against trusting this ‘pen at all.
Updated hierarchy: *Scott | Armstrong | Fry.
