Walker has called it a day (personal decision) and left Surprise with only a scant nine innings under his belt. A shame, as it would have been a great opportunity to view a future ace up close and personal next week.

Saw his first AFL work today and tossed five innings of two hit, two walk ball, allowing one earned run. Apparently, he was hitting 98 mph on the gun in his final IP. Hopefully, he's still getting in some work when First Pitch rolls around in a couple of weeks.

Walker. Might get knocked around a bit next year, on his way to becoming an ace,

A strong finish to his 2014 season. still looking for opinions as to whether he or Jose Quintana(see his thread) will be the better keeper(12 team AL only) in 2016.

Threw a fastball down the middle to Springer in the first inning and watched it go up up and far away, then settled in nicely. Things are looking up in Seattle.

From Baseball America this morning:

PITCHER OF THE DAY: Taijuan Walker, rhp — Triple-A Tacoma (Mariners)

Walker, the Mariners' top prospect who's been rehabbing from a right shoulder impingement, stamped his readiness for a major league return Tuesday with a complete-game shutout. Walker allowed only four hits and one walk while striking out eight in Tacoma's 2-0 win over Oklahoma City. He threw 75 of 109 pitches for strikes.
