Two bombs last night after pitching six innings for the win the day before.

HR Derby Update

The aforementioned Shohei Ohtani was announced yesterday as a participant in this year's Home Run Derby. Coinciding with that, Baseball Reference has added HR Derby Winner bling to the top of player pages. Ken Griffey Jr. is one example you can check out.

Six innings, four hits, ten strikeouts -- and no walks.

It's possible the Mariners helped him with that. They swung at 42 of his pitches, took eight for strikes.

How high is neck-high? For Shohei it's 4.19 feet.

My son who cares nothing about baseball found me the other day and said, "Have you heard about this guy on the angels."  Best two-way player since Ruth.

I'd forgotten how good his pitching was in 2018!

What a stud!  If he could just draw a few more walks as a hitter and issue a few less walks as a pitcher, he'd be Superman :-)

What I was asking is ... can you create another (dummy) page so that one can see both Ohtani's (rather than toggling this page back and forth as our whim's demand)?

I've toggled to his pitching stats, which we're not getting, obviously.

I think, by leaving him as a pitcher, we'll get them tomorrow.

Ohtani fans 10 in 7 frames, then plays RF ... breathtaking! ... eye popping!  FUN!

Is there a way to create a page for his pitching stats?

Yesterday's installment of the Shohei Show: 5 innings, 1 hit, 6 walks, 7 strikeouts, no runs. He left with a 1-0 lead.

Why on earth was Phil Goselin the DH? I'm sure Maddon had his reasons.
