Basically, the Pirates dealt all that for the privilege of paying Archer $19 million over 2+ years for a total of 1.5 WAR.

The final piece to the Pirates worst trade ever in which they acquired Chris Archer for Austin Meadows, Tyler Glasnow, and a first round pick out of high school who was raw.

Meadows and Glasnow have been great at the major league level and Archer was hurt for the majority of his Pirates tenure.

Baz is now developing really well.  He's got 49 strikeouts against only 2 walks in AA at age 21.  Last night he pitched 5 perfect innings before being lifted.

Here's what BA wrote today:

Shane Baz, Double-A Montgomery (Rays) — After a small blip to end the first month of the season, Baz has opened June with flair. The righthander whiffed six over five hitless innings on Wednesday, bringing his total in two starts this month to 10 innings, three hits, no walks and 14 strikeouts. For the season, Baz has struck out 49 in 32.2 innings.
