Sean Manaea (P) SD - Sep. 29
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=12948

Manaea did not factor into the decision Thursday versus the Dodgers, allowing one run on two hits while striking out three and walking none in four innings.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Manaea worked behind an opener Thursday, and the role appeared to suit him well. He'd given up five runs across his previous 8.2 innings entering the contest, but he had better results this time despite throwing only 38 of 62 pitches for strikes. The southpaw has a 5.15 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 150:49 K:BB across 152 innings through 29 outings this year, though his second-half struggles likely mean he'll operate out of the bullpen during the Padres' playoff run.

Rotoworld:

09.24: Sean Manaea lasted just 3 2/3 innings and allowed three runs against the Rockies on Friday. (Manaea was decent last week in his return to the rotation after skipping a start, but this was another poor showing for the free-agent-to-be. He
gave up six hits, walked three and struck out just two in seeing his ERA
rise to 5.23. Over the last month, he's given up 19 earned runs in 18 innings.)

Sean Manaea (P) SD - Aug. 10
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=12948

Manaea allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and one walk while striking out four across five innings Wednesday against the Giants. He did not factor into the decision.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Manaea was hit hard in the second and third inning, though he managed to tack on two scoreless frames to salvage a decent outing. It was a needed effort for Manaea, as he entered Wednesday's start having maintained a 6.60 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and a 47:19 K:BB across 45 innings and nine starts since June 14. For the season, Manaea now has a 4.76 ERA in 119 frames on the season.

I spent 981 of my 1000 FAAB for him. The next bid was around 940. I'm floating near the bottom of the standings waiting for Tatis and deGrom, but alas have just lost Segura.

The interesting thing about not having any FAAB to spend is I've been able to pick up useful pieces because of zero dollar bidding.

Do you have Manea in Tout NL, Peter?

06.03: Sean Manaea pitched six innings of one-run ball and struck out eight Thursday against the Brewers. (This
probably rates as Manaea's best outing since he threw seven hitless
innings against the Diamondbacks in his Padres debut. He got 16 missed
swings, and his average exit velocity against was just 80 mph.
Unfortunately, it turned out to be his fourth straight no-decision, as
he remained 2-3 with a 3.77 ERA.)

That's because there is waivers every night?

Maybe I should just go all in on Manaea to replace my fallen deGrom. If I need cash later I can throw deGrom back for $340. Why mess around?

So in CBS - on successive nights - Kimbrel went for $91 ... and Manea for $94.

$100 budget.

Play along with Rotoman. In the Tout NL FAAB tonight, Sean Manaea, Craig Kimbrel and Randall Grichuk are available. I have openings, so I bid 433 on Manaea and Kimbrel, each, and 386 on Grichuk. I won't get all three. I suspect I'll get none but this is rare to have three big players available in the first waivers. 1000 budget. Would you do it differently? (I can change them until 8pm)
