I'm working on Big Prices for the Guide. Today I have Ryan O'Hearn with a price of $8. What do you think?

Fascinating factoid from Baseball America: "O'Hearn hit only four home runs in three college seasons, but he hit 13 in his pro debut in just 64 games."

This year in the PCL, he slugged .391 in 100 games.

Joins the club. In 99 AB.

3 hits last night, two of which were HR's. He's been waiver wire gold.

In his last 11 games - .333/.368/.833 slash line with 5 HR's and 12 ribbies.

He does have a sweet swing. Just needs to stand in there vs. southpaws.

Methinks O'Hearn is making a case to start for the Royals next year, Tim.

A homer and three ribbies last night.

I activated him at 7:05 thinking the first AL game started at 7:10.

But the Yankees and Mets game started at 7:05.

Was meant to start then. They fussed around in Yankee Stadium (Rudy Giuliani probably was taking selfies in the dugout) until 7:09, when, according to the official boxscore, the first pitch was thrown.

I made the case to the American Dreamers that O'Hearn was activated before the start of the first game, fully expecting tough darts, and that's what I got.

Nice to see O'Hearn get that first big league homer under his belt last night. One would think that the Royals will give him plenty of at-bats in August and September.

With the Padres signing Hosmer, O'Hearn could be an option in KC for 1B. Two of the other potential options could be Jorge Soler or Cody Asche?
