Nice start today for Erlin. 6 innings, 4 hits, no walks, 6 Ks and just one run, and he got the win.

Young guns Erlin, Eovaldi, and Lyles have to hold down the Palin fort until the calvary (Hamels and Minor) arrives.

Lynch- the Reds did that a couple of years ago in a doubleheader against the Cubs; they brought up minor league pitcher Todd Redmond to start game 2- it was the only game the Reds 5 man rotation didn't start all year.

That's pretty cool Lynch. I remember during the 80's when the owners decided to go with 24 man rosters just to screw with the union.

Here's something I did not know ...

The Padres will be able to -- and will -- add a 26th player for Wednesday's doubleheader. Rules state that teams can add a position player or a pitcher, though the Padres will certainly add a pitcher to give them a little depth.

The Collective Bargaining Agreement rule that allows clubs a 26-man roster for day-night doubleheaders only applies if the twin bill is scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.

If Kurzweil's "Singularity" comes sooner than expected, he might still be worth $5 in 3013 ... that will be fun!

I wonder what he'll cost in 3013?
