Thread: Patton & Co. League

Welcome! You are invited to wander around and read all of the comments that have been posted here at Patton & Co., but as soon as you register you can see the bid limits that Alex, Peter and Mike propose for each player, and you can post your own comments. Registering is free, so please join us!

I just finished setting it up, Tex. Anyone interested in partaking in the Patton & Co Post-Season Points League, fire off an e-mail to me at [email protected] and I'll forward the ID and password. The same rules and scoring as last year. 10 player rosters with a maximum of ten waiver wire pickups. Standard snake draft. I've got it set up as a 12-team League with the live draft set for Wednesday evening at 9pm Eastern. It should take about 1/2 hour or so to do the draft. Catch you Wednesday in the draft room!

To dump or not to dump?  When Tulo and Parra went AL from our already-sputtering offense, that was the question.  Fisher Catamounts elected to double down and go for it, even dealing O'Brien in the pursuit of the money.  And while we fell short, we got the fun of a down to the wire race, with every day's standings mattering and every lineup decision crucial.  I don't regret a thing.  It was way more exciting than trying to assemble a lineup of bargains for 2016 (like we did last year)....I'll take the thrill of the chase.

Congrats to Carter ... he indeed has a Gypsy Soul :-)

His key contributors were ... Pollock and Grienke!

Even playing with BA can still be fun ... I just think it'd be more fun to use OBP :-)

PCL prepares for the big FAAB battle of the year.

Reyes and Cespedes lead the way.

With FAAB raises for players traded to the AL, we have one team at 135 and another around 115 plus several around 70.

The kicker is that with a 325 salary cap, you have to balance a high enough price to get said player and a low enough price to be able to start them.

My hope is simply that these players go for a high enough price that no one will keep them on freeze day.

*********************

On a personal note, I've dumped getting Schwarber and also getting a long list of minor league pitchers that I had on my "to get" list should I draft/dump for minor league pitchers.

Montero, AJ Cole, Cooney, Nicolino were all on my preseason list.  Add Zach Wheeler who I will no doubt keep headed into next year plus DeSclafini and Williams Perez who are active and I have a lot of young starters.

I may keep them or look to move them in the offseason, but I like having talented arms.  Maybe they will all get a chance to show off in September (except Wheeler, of course).
