Homered on a 3-2 pitch from Sipp, whose job most likely was to face the first batter in the bottom of the tenth, to bring the A's to within a game of the Astros.
An appreciative crowd of 23,000 watched.

ZiPS puts Mo Vaughn as his #1 Comp. At least on Fangraphs, only one comp is shown.

The PECOTA comps drive me crazy. I mean, how many players are between A.J. Reed and Goldschmidt? 600?

We think we're bold, showing Rotoman's projections for last year as well as this year. BP's PECOTA is even bolder, projecting this year and next year.
Olson's going to hit 31 homers this year, 29 next year.
But his WARP will go up a tick, from 2.1 to 2.2. So maybe PECOTA is predicting the old baseball will be brought back?
I hope it's right.
The comps for Olson are A.J. Reed, Rhys Hoskins and Paul Goldschmidt.

He's obviously not September 2017 good, because nobody is. But is he .250/30/80 good? I think so. And we'll likely keep him at $15.

Two pans in the Guide. Meanwhile Bill James put him in his Top-10 Firstbasemen right now on MLB Network, even though his short season doesn't qualify him for the Shredder rankings. Bill James said, he's going to hit 40 HR this year.

As we scrapped and scrounged to hang on last September, his daily homer (and it WAS daily for a while) was everything for us. He missed the last week with a hammie, and we were out of FAAB money (so no subs), and I shrugged and said, "It's not like he owes us anything."

So (Soler thread), what's Olson going to fetch this year, Mike?
Do you have the topper?
