He's the lineup today batting fifth against Kyle Gibson. d'Arnaud is batting cleanup.

D'Arnaud?

Matt Olson (1B) ATL - Sep. 24
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=12498

Olson will sit for the first time this season Saturday against the Phillies.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Atlanta has leaned heavily on its new $168 million man this season, and the workload may be weighing on him. He's faded hard down the stretch, hitting .096/.194/.145 across his last 23 games.

Rotowire:

Three-run homer in win
September 7, 2022
Olson went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's 10-9 victory over the Athletics.
ANALYSIS
Olson walked and scored in the first inning before taking Cole Irvin deep for a three-run shot in the top of the third frame. The long ball was his 28th of the year and first since Aug. 24. Olson came into Tuesday's contest having gone 1-for-23 in his previous seven games.

Rotoworld:

06.18: Matt Olson has been dropped to the sixth spot in the Braves' lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs. (Olson
has been bumped down with Marcell Ozuna and William Contreras shifting
up in Atlanta's order to face Cubs' lefty Justin Steele on Saturday
afternoon.)

Strangely, the HR have turned into doubles. 15 doubles in 141 AB so far. If he hits 60 doubles and only 16 HR I will be shocked by both tallies.

Doing well, but he's (so far) no Freddie Freeman.

You're forgetting the guys who went NL to AL prior to the lockout: Seagar, Baez, Glausman, Jon Gray.

This is a good year to be an NL only guy, it feels like Schwarber, Olson, Marte, Bassett, Suzuyki, are all adds. Winker (who I didn't have) and Gray seemed to be the main guys leaving. Freeman stays.  Story is still up in the air.

Not significantly more than the deal Freeman was on before he was shown the door. It's like the Braves went into a time machine, because you'd think he'd get more. Then again, he's from Atlanta and probably just wanted to be there.

And there it is, 168m over 8 years.

The haul they gave up for him leads some to believe the Braves will sign him long-term.  But I think the Braves might have been dealing from their prospect excess--C, OF, SP.
