Luis Gil (P) NY-A - Sep. 18
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=807535

Gil (1-1) was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Saturday's game against Cleveland. He was charged with the loss after giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits while tallying six strikeouts and four walks over 4.1 innings.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 23-year-old struggled with his command and threw only 50 of 88 pitches in the zone, though he still induced 13 swinging strikes. Gil still has a strong 2.88 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 32:15 K:BB across 25 innings this season, but he'll head back to the minors since the Yankees need only four starters for the near future thanks to having two scheduled off days in the next nine days.

Luis Gil cries, but not too much.

08.03... Yankees returned RHP Luis Gil to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Spin: Gil pitched brilliantly in his MLB debut on Tuesday night against the
Orioles, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out six
batters across six scoreless frames to earn a win. But the 23-year-old
was only up as a replacement player after Gerrit Cole and Jordan
Montgomery landed on the COVID-19 IL. He should get another look soon.

Yankee Nation rejoices. Red Sox Nation shudders.

Rotoworld:

08.03... Luis Gil shut out the Orioles for six innings to prevail in his major league debut as the Yankees won 13-1 on Tuesday.
Spin: Gil allowed just four hits, walked one and struck out six in a
surprisingly easy outing. The 23-year-old has a strong arm, but he
typically has troubles with walks, having issued 160 in 268 innings as a
minor leaguer (36 in 61 IP this season). He had completed six innings
in just two of 15 minor league starts this year. The performance should
keep him in the rotation for now, but while he is very interesting, he
still doesn't seem like a mixed-league pickup.

Luis Gil, Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (Yankees) — With the trade deadline just days away, the Yankees' top pitching prospect picked an excellent time to turn in his best outing of the year. Gil spun the first six innings of the RailRiders' no-hitter before handing the ball to Reggie McClain and Stephen Ridings for the final three frames. The outing moved his season line at Triple-A to 36 whiffs in 29 innings.
