Amen,  Rotoworld.

09.11: Lance Lynn held the Rays to one run in seven innings Tuesday in a no-decision. (Lynn allowed one earned run or fewer for the 12th time in 30 starts this
season, an impressive feat given his home ballpark and the mediocre
defense behind him. He's 14-10 with a 3.72 ERA.)

He's figured something out that has taken his game to the next level.  Terrific performance against the Astros last night.  His K rate and walk rate turned around with the Yankees last year, but everything else didn't follow right away.  It wasn't HR at Yankee Stadium, but it could have been the defense.  This year, it's all going his way.

Got his ERA under 4.00 today.  It was his 18th start.  Did you know he's allowed 2 runs or fewer in 11 of them?

I see BP also has a career BABIP of .305.

Curious, since BABIP is batting average and sac flies don't count towards batting average.

In any case, we don't get sac flies in our stat feed. Maybe next year.

Fangraphs shows a BABIP career of .305 for Lynn, wonder why such a discrepancy from the one here.

He wasn't dominant yesterday but got the W.

After seven starts he has four wins and is -2 in 4x4, -1 in 5x5.

He's actually been dominant in 4 of his 6 starts, including today.

I thought about sitting him last night against the A's. And then I thought: if I'm afraid to pitch Lance Lynn in the Oakland Coliseum against Frankie Montas, why am I keeping him?

After buying three pricey starters in the draft, I sat back to wait for the cheapies that I wanted and the cheapies I would take a chance on.

The cheapies I wanted: Wade Miley $5 and Martin Perez $3.

The cheapies who I thought, for various reasons, might end up with positive value: Lance Lynn $3, Ivan Nova $3 and Matt Shoemaker $4.

Today I'm second in wins and, after a nice start, sinking fast in the qualitatives.

It's not Ivan's fault. I got rid of him fast.

Lance Lynn (P) TEX - Mar. 19

Lynn allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out nine over five-plus innings Tuesday against the Brewers.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Lynn hurled five scoreless frames before tiring, becoming the first Ranger starter to pitch into the sixth inning this spring. He had thrown nine consecutive scoreless innings before running into trouble. If it were the regular season, manager Chris Woodward would probably let Lynn pitch out of his jam, but the right-hander was at his pitch limit. He's struck out 18 batters in 11.2 Cactus League innings.
