This is unusual, because the Rocks have consistently focused on lefty ground ball pitchers. But Slowey comes pretty much free. He may not last long in Denver, but they might get some value for him. They bought low, for sure.

What were the odds that a pitcher with a career 39-21 won-lost record would have eight losses and no wins?

Bill James would say, higher than you think.

Perhaps he's not the next Brad Radke. Going to completely wrong environment for an extreme flyball pitcher. Great control though. I just wish he was given a rebirth in a park where he had a chance for success. Now, unfortunately, I think his career is over.

Now a Rockie. Should I be interested or just afraid.

He's cost me, too. I need two ERA points. If only Slowey had left his last two starts after five innings -- with a total of 1 run allowed -- I'd have those points. Now, further back in ERA. only a few strikeouts from two other points, and tied for top in wins, I await the results of two games in which I have both starters, cahill, beavan, and harrison, weaver. I'm thinking that 1-0 would be nice in both.

I had him for a week late in the season. He was dropped when he was in the minors. Probably cost me 2 points in ERA, although it's very close at this point. 0-8 on the season. Perhaps he's not the next Brad Radke after all. Oh, and I'm only up .5 for 2nd place as of tonight, so those 2 points are BIG.

35,000 on hand in Target Field to watch the home team go down to its 99th defeat. Fan loyalty should count for something, and it probably does, a game or two.

Well, they're saying the Twins are pissed at him, and when the muscle pull heals, he'll be dealt -- I own him (at $3), and I'm probably going to ride it until his fate becomes more apparent. In our league, if he's dealt to the NL, I keep his stats.
