Thanks, Alex. I always enjoy looking back at the picks and pans. Last year, I did much better with my Pans. The only serious miss there was Strasburg and it was health or lack of health driven.

Three pans, no picks in last year's Guide. (Good one, Tim.)

McLEOD PAN: If health is a skill, it’s one that
Kiermaier doesn’t possess.

FLOWERS PAN: The mythical 20/20 season
will never happen. Period. He can’t stay on
the field so it just doesn’t matter anymore.
The cost is just too high for a guy who gets
350 at-bats a season with a .733 career OPS.
#HardPass

DAVITT PAN: Quick quiz: How many times in
his big-league career has Kevin Kiermaier had
500+ PAs? Once, in 2015. He’s had 300+ or 400+
the other four seasons. He doesn’t draw walks,
which limits the fantasy value of his fabled
footspeed, and his power is league-average
at best. Of course,

any player can be a “buy” at the right price, but Kiermaier’s patina of
defensive excellence might inspire overly high
expectations, and he has a string of mid-teens
dollar-value seasons. That sets a ceiling, but
only if he can stay on the field—by no means a
bettable proposition.

Unless Cole pulls a Foltynewicz, I don't see the Astros losing this game at home.
