I jinxed him. Franmil Reyes drew a walk.

Courtesy Jos Posnanski: You look up now, as the MLB.com headline says, he’s pitching at Cy Young level … literally. His core numbers are excellent — in five starts, he has struck out 41 batters in 31 2/3 innings, he had a 2.27 ERA, and an 0.979 WHIP. All that’s good. But what makes this a literal Cy Young season is that so far he has not walked a single batter or given up a single home run.
And the last person to have five consecutive starts without allowing either a home run or a walk was, yes, Cy Young himself.

Hasn't walked anyone yet.

Gausman had 12 pitches to play around with heading into the ninth today for his Maddux, and Charlie Montoyo gave him a shot. He allowed a leadoff single and that was the end of that dream.

Kevin Gausman (P) TOR - Apr. 04

Gausman threw in the bullpen following Monday's Grapefruit League start and ultimately threw about 80 pitches between the two sessions, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Gausman allowed two runs on three hits and no walks while striking out three in six innings against the Tigers on Monday, reaching 68 pitches in the start. Monday's appearance was his lone spring start this year, but he appears to be built up nicely and expects to be ready to throw between 95 and 100 pitches during his first regular-season start. Jose Berrios has been named Toronto's Opening Day starter, so Gausman lines up to make his 2022 debut at home against the Rangers on Saturday.

$22 in LABR.
Robbie Ray went for 21.

Moving down the depths chart page at Rotowire, wondering who does and who doesn't have enough starting pitching in the middle of the lockout...
Blue Jays
The first four are solid. Gausman might be the closest comp to Ray last year -- right down to what they fetched as free agents -- in all of baseball.
Manoah's the one we all covet, if we can just get him at the right price.
