I'm working on Big Prices for the Guide. Today I have Jose Reyes with a price of $1. What do you think?

Maybe Mark Reynolds gets a nice payday next year based on his performance primarily vs. position players pitching? If so, good for him.

He threw mostly curves. They started out at 79 and dwindled down to 40. He mixed in a few fastballs, ranging from 81 to 87, which Statcast insisted were changeups.

Got the call in the last inning for the Mets tonight, surrending a touchdown to the Redskins in his one inning of work.

Closer Monkey calls the situation 'developing'.

Talk about a bad BABIP (Harper thread)...

Mets signed him up for another year.

We don't count D and maybe the Mets don't either (last in John Dewan's Team Defense in the Bill James Handbook, 11 runs not saved behind the Tigers).

While I'm obsessing, with an assist from the Hanbook, on Jose's defense, the Baseball Forecaster keeps its eye on the ball with its comment.

"After raw hit rate luck in 1H and a short 2nd half DL stint, closed with flourish: .317, 6 HR, 10 SB after Aug 26. Still, late-career love affair with long ball (see FB%) seems ill-advised, given PX/xPX, HctX. Days as a full-timer may be past, so don't pay too much, but SB, positional felxibility should keep him relevant."

In some leagues, he even qualifies in the outfield.

Had a surprisingly fine year on the bases, as I chronicled early this month.

In the field? Not so much.

Defensive Runs Saved at...

Shortstop: -15

Second Base: -5

Third Base: -5

Left Field: -1

As we see, he only played one game in left field.

Probably wasn't tested in center.
