As I scroll through the Orioles' minor league boxscores, I'm struck by the family connections of low-ceiling players who aren't like the Blue Jays' talented son's of former players.  At AA Erie, the O's have Ryan Ripken at 1B, son of Cal and nephew of Billy.  He's 26 and it's his first time in the high minors.  Jesmuel Valentin, a 25 year old 3B, son of Jose and nephew of Javier.  24 year old Preston Palmeiro son of Rafael helps round out the IF at 2B.  His brother Patrick washed out in 2014.

Playing alongside Adley Rutschman at low-A is 23 year old Dalton Hoiles, son of Chris.
