I made that mistake this year. I had some cheap saves to bring back (Greene), but I fell for a decent price for . . . Cody Allen.

I FAABed Kennedy, Kelley and Elias to go along with Shane Greene, who I FAABed for $1 two years ago. Why pay full price(or more) for a closer on draft day?

All of a sudden, my epic closer team of Rogers and Kennedy, with the addition of Robles, Workman, and Pagan through FAAB is well out in front in my 2nd league. I don't know why I was so aggressive adding saves, perhaps it's because I thought I'd be only ahead of the no closer team. I only wish the rest of my roster over performed expectations the same way.

Unless I'm smothered with an epic offer, the Nabobs will stick with Kennedy in hopes that his contract is too pricey for Dayton Moore to move at the deadline.

Continues to rack them up. Now has 19.
The Nabobs in the ADL could get great value for him if Kennedy isn't traded before next Wednesday.
But if he isn't, how do you trade a $3 keeper for next year?

Racking up the saves over the past week.

Masterful job on Nelson Cruz to get the save. Maybe Cruz did check his swing with two outs and the tying runs on and maybe he didn't, but after taking two called strikes he couldn't sit with his bat on his shoulder on the next pitch; Kennedy placed the third straight cutter just enough outside to get it started.

From Closer Monkey this morning:" Kansas City Royals -- All of a sudden, Ian Kennedy is a save machine. He cashed in his third in six days on Thursday, getting the final out with two men on in a four-run game. Kennedy has three straight Royals saves, so it's safe to kick his asterisk. He's the guy in KC."

That was a very bad outing against the Yankees. The Royals don't have many saves, but I wonder if this will cost Kennedy his share of the opportunities. Before the outing today: 3.10 ERA and 1.28 Ratio.

He's actually pitching well in the pen. Peralta and Boxberger have been terrible, so it's likely that Kennedy will become the regular closer if the Royals ever get any wins.
