There were many shots of Anderson smiling in the dugout after he was taken out. He didn't have his best stuff and he knew it.

Ian Anderson (P) ATL - Jul. 16
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=792000

Anderson (shoulder) will be shut down from throwing for 7-10 days, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The right-hander isn't dealing with any structural damage in his shoulder, but he'll still be shut down at least a week to allow inflammation to subside. Anderson will require some time to build up his arm after the brief shutdown, so he likely won't be back until August. Touki Toussaint is slated to receive a look in the starting rotation during Anderson's absence.

Ian Anderson (P) ATL - Jun. 16
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=785694

Anderson gave up four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over four innings against the Red Sox on Wednesday. He did not factor in the decision.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Anderson has had a rough time of late, allowing exactly four runs and failing to make it through five innings in three of his past four starts. He didn't serve up any homers Wednesday, but four of the seven hits against him went for doubles, including one to opposing pitcher Garret Richards that drove in Boston's fourth run. Anderson's recent rough stretch has pushed his season ERA to 3.58 -- it sat at 2.82 through his first nine starts.

Ian Anderson (P) ATL - Apr. 15

https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=771081

Anderson allowed three earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out six across five innings Thursday against the Marlins. He did not factor into the decision.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Anderson didn't allow a long ball, which prevented this outing from becoming a disaster. However, he consistently fought his control -- only 57 of his 98 pitches were strikes -- and allowed 10 baserunners while recording only 15 outs. Anderson has had mixed results early on this season, as he's punched out 19 batters in only 15.1 frames, but he has yet to work more than 5.1 innings in any start this season and has a 4.70 ERA to show for it. He's in line to make his next start Wednesday at the Yankees.

Ian Anderson (P) ATL - Apr. 04

https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=768592

Anderson gave up one run on four hits and two walks while fanning seven across five innings Sunday against the Phillies. He didn't factor into the decision.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Anderson posted an excellent 11.4 K/9 in six starts last season and while he might not be able to replicate those numbers over the course of a full season, he got off to a strong start this season while ending just three outs shy of recording a quality start. His next scheduled start will come April 10 at home facing the Phillies once again.

The percentiles say he doesn't get much spin on either his fastball or his curveball, and yet...

Ian Anderson (P) ATL - Mar. 20

https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=766177

Anderson struck out nine over 4.2 innings during Friday's Grapefruit League game against the Twins.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: He held Minnesota scoreless through four frames before fading a bit in the fifth, but it was still another dominant outing for the 22-year-old. Anderson has a stunning 18:3 K:BB through 8.2 spring innings as he prepares to build on his impressive rookie campaign.
