I picked him last year for the last week of the season along with three other middle relievers to try and protect my ERA/WHIP. Never in a million years would I have expected him and Joakim Soria to have grabbed me 11 points in saves so far.

What about the folks in keeper leagues who cut sherill last september knowing he couldn't possibly be worth 10 bucks this year. save some pity for us.

kept him for $3 in a 12 team AL only league and got lots of chuckles for only bidding on one other closer on draft day...The real question is whether I will be able to count on him being worth $5 as a keeper next year!

All over the (roto) world, those owners who elected not to freeze George Sherrill must be having some moments of self loathing. Then again, who'd have thunk the Orioles would have won 16 games by now?

On pace for around 80 saves.

For some reason he was thrown back in my league, owner could have kept him for $10. Got me wondering...

I ended up with Borowski *and* Sherrill (yikes) but at $17 each. The hope, then, if for only one flameout, I guess. If neither does, well, happy day, given that the top tier guys tend to settle in the 30-35 range in my league. Even 10 saves from the flameout guy is enough for a leg up.

Mariano went for $30 and Jenks for $28. Huston went for $24, but we allow a team to keep a player's stats until the end of the year if traded to the NL. Ryan was $19 and Wilson went for $10. Soria and Accardo were froze.

And Sherrill was released in our league; he was keepable at $15, but the owner passed. I'm predicting some WEIRD stopper results in our Saturday auction.

Of the second and 3rd tier closers in my 5x5 league, CJ Wilson and Sherrill were both kept at $5 each. Percival went for $11, Todd Jones and Borowski went $17 each. Accardo went for $14, BJ Ryan was kept for $9. Huston Street went $20 with a risk to be lost to the NL. Soria $21. All of the big closers went $26 or 27.
