Cooper is absolutely mashing of late, slashing .380/.439/.700 with 17R, 5HR and 15RBI over his last 13 games. Maybe there is something to that 2017 AAA performance.

Quite the evening at Miller Park. Cooper went 4-for-5 with a homer, four runs scored, and a couple RBI in a 16-0 drubbing of the Brewers. Pablo Lopez went six innings, allowing three hits, one walk and struckout seven. The top of the fifth inning took so long to play, I was getting concerned that Lopez might not make it out for the bottom half.

Break up the Fish! Cooper hits one out with two outs and the sacks drunk in the top of the ninth, the team trailing 5-2. It's the second home run of his career, the second in two days. The Tigers walked Granderson with first base open to get to him.

Marlins extend their winning streak to SIX.

Tigers go down to defeat in all nine games that were completed during their homestand. They trail in a game that was suspended.

Batted cleanup for the mighty Marlins today, look at this lineup:

Brinson CF

Anderson 3B

Castro 2B

Cooper RF

Prado 1B

Alfaro C

Rojas SS

Herrera LF

Urena P

Wow.

The 1962 Mets could give this team a run for the money.

Actually, upon further reflection, Coop's K rate in the majors last year -- granted, a teensy weensy sample size -- is a little alarming.

I'm not really talking to Syd. I'm talking to myself as I try to figure out what AP4 should be in the next update.

Pay no attention, Syd. Coop slugged .652 in Triple-A two years ago.

Garrett Cooper (1B) MIA - Mar. 25

Cooper appears to be the Marlins' Opening Day right fielder after Peter O'Brien was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans, Jordan McPherson of The Miami Herald reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: O'Brien could return to the majors if he proves he can make at least semi-consistent contact, but in the meantime Cooper will likely handle the bulk of the work in right. The 28-year-old is hitting .395 (17-for-43) this spring, but he hasn't gone yard and his .276/.325/.382 career line during his brief big-league career suggests he won't be adding much power to a fairly feeble Marlins lineup.

Threw him back at $3 and bought him back for $2. Seems to be the marlins RF

I have him at $4 and am on the fence.  I would think that if I were the Marlins, it would make sense to go with him (younger, potential) instead of Pete O'Brien (or Curtis Granderson). But since I own him, I can't tell if that's just my prejudice.
