Yes, but the pay's better, even for a day.

Rotoworld:

09.20: Royals recalled OF Edward Olivares from Triple-A Omaha.  (Olivares will serve as the 29th man for Monday's doubleheader against the Indians. We doubt he's unpacked his bags. )

I like to think I have a lot of patience, but the Royals insistence on starting Ryan O'Hearn in the outfield was the last straw. I wish Olivares nothing but the best, but doubt the Royals give him the opportunity to display it.

I'm in the rooting section too, but was losing patience with the organization.  I think he'll get a shot now with Dyson gone.

Do they like him now? Called up yesterday in a move so quiet even the small remaining rooting section for Edward Olivares didn't hear it (that would be me; I know Tim bailed on him in the XFL a few days ago); sent out to right field in the seventh inning of a tie game to replace O'Hearn; hit a sac fly in the top of the 10th to score the phantom baserunner but the lead didn't stick; hit a two-run homer in the top of the 12th and this time it stuck.

You would think that would earn him a start today but the small remaining Edward Olivares rooting section is waiting for the lineups to be posted.

I haven't heard boo but it sure seems like the Royals just don't like Olivares.

This just in from Rotowire on Hunter Dozier:

Battling illness
August 20, 2021
Dozier will sit Friday against the Cubs due to illness, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.
ANALYSIS
The Royals haven't mentioned any coronavirus concerns regarding Dozier, so this appears to be simply a normal illness. Assuming that remains the case, he should be back in the lineup soon. Ryan O'Hearn starts in right field Friday.

Did you guys hear anything?  Back down again and they are playing O'Hearn and Dyson?  Are they trying to win the AAA title?

Rotoworld:

08.10: Royals optioned OF Edward Olivares to Triple-A Omaha. (Olivares has posted exceptional numbers this season in the minors and has also
popped four home runs in 20 games with the Royals, but he's showing a
rough .283 on-base percentage across his 60 total MLB plate
appearances.)

A homer, an SB and a CS yesterday.

What do you want for him, Walter? Let's leave Peter out of this.

Inside ADL baseball chatter. I spent time talking with Walter yesterday about getting Tellez from him if he could get Tellez from Alex. That might have been Tellez for Olivares, for all I know. But Walter wanted Yarbrough back, essentially, and as much as I think Tellez will have another hot streak at some point, that was too much. Clearly the Blue Jays thought so, too (though Tellez in the minors is worth far more to me so far than Yarbrough's game yesterday).

That's what Walter (WShapiro) and I are trying to figure out in the ADL. On the first Monday he was up, Walter paid $161 ($1000 FAAB) for Olivares, which I thought was nothing short of highway robbery. So did Walter. And then, of course, when Olivares, hit the road again back to the minors, I started making lowball offers.

When O'Hearn was brought up, I was sure Walter would change his mind and take Tellez for Olivares. Who knows? Walter's very stubborn but he might have been thinking about it until Tellez was sent down.
