He's hitting .329 in 70 AB v. lefties, .226 in 208 AB v. righties. Two homers against lefties.

Dom's grade from Mike Puma at the break --

Dominic Smith: C +

Much more was expected from him than a .710 OPS after last season’s breakout. He’s crushing lefties, now he has to figure out righties.

I hope Dom reads Rotoworld.

06.14:
Dominic Smith went 2-for-3 with a homer and a walk Monday in theMets' 5-2 takedown of the Cubs. (Smith was 3-for-31 with 13 strikeouts in his last nine games before coming through tonight. He's going to need to pick it up to avoid losing some playing time as the Mets begin to get healthier. He's hitting just .244/.312/.358 this season, which isn't going to cut it for a bat-first player.)

I saw him hit a "Dom Bomb" to straight-away CF yesterday that removed my concerns about his wrist ...

I've never understood how/why anyone thinks that one day off is all that's needed for a sore wrist ... I do understand that at some point there's a minimally sore wrist that only needs one day off to heal ... but I can't believe that that's the most common case ... ie. if/when it's sore enough to notice and do something about, then 99 times out of a 100 it seems likely that more than one day will be needed ... it's "pay me now or pay me later" ... and paying now, with still 2 weeks to go before the season starts, seems even cheaper ... how many times to we hear/read "he dealt with a sore wrist all season" ... or "sore hamy" ... or "sore thumb" ... or "sore oblique" ... or ...

Dominic Smith (1B) NY-N - Mar. 17

Smith was scratched from Wednesday's spring lineup against the Marlins due to wrist soreness, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Smith has apparently been dealing with a sore wrist throughout spring training, and the team opted to give him a day off Wednesday as a precautionary measure. Manager Luis Rojas didn't sound too concerned about the issue and said that Smith did some defensive work prior to Wednesday's game. Barring any setbacks, Smith could be back in the lineup in the coming days.
