Two singles and double against Cole Hamel this afternoon in Coors. No one else seemed to be able to pick up his pitches.

The balls continue to fall in for Dahl at well above a .400 clip.

Three hits, including his third homer, to raise his batting average to .333.

Before we get today's stat feed, his BABIP is .462.

Uh-oh... I knew I shouldn't put him on my Doubt Wars team but I could't resist.

David Dahl (OF) COL - Apr. 8

Dahl has a "slight" core injury in his lower abdomen, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The exact nature of the injury remains unclear, but manager Bud Black did not describe it as a serious one. He's not starting Monday against Atlanta but could still avoid a trip to the injured list. Raimel Tapia starts in his place and will likely feature on a regular basis until Dahl is able to return.

Their saying on MLB he gained 15 pounds over the winter. If he did, none of it's fat.

The injury risk, which I agree borders on the ridiculous, weighs more heavily if you play in an NL-only. If you play in a mixie, you have a pretty good replacement on your reserve list. What you want is Dahl's production while he's healthy; whatever his ADP is now (I don't really follow this, though I should), move him a full round higher on your list.

For a guy as young as he is, the list of injuries is ridiculous. Maybe he's the opposite of Quincy Magoo, the unluckiest guy of them all. But at some point, I start to wonder what's wrong with the player, even if I can't put a fine point on it. I say that sadly, because anyone with talent and a Colorado gig to lose is our catnip.

David Dahl (OF) COL - Mar. 7

Dahl went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run Thursday against the Cubs.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Dahl clubbed a two-run homer in the third inning to tie the game, 3-3. He's now batting .318 with three RBI and four runs scored in spring training.

CBS was bullish, taking him up to $24.

Exactly. What he has done in the past is supported by the underlying stats. The reason the bids don't go all the way is because 550 plate appearances, while likely, is far from guaranteed. And that BABIP is a small sample. Still, that $18 is too little. He'll get a nice bump in price in the next update.

That's the algorithm value.  A .291 BA and 11 SBs have good value in this day and age, and 25 HR doesn't hurt.

Among NL regulars in 2018 those would rank him 12th in BA, 16 in HR, and 19 in SB.

FWIW, that algorithm projection looks a LOT like his career #s to date.

The bid in the Guide is $18.
