Didn't bathe himself in glory during the postseason, but during the regular season had a 4.01 WPA, fifth best in the league. Not bad for someone who wasn't even in the league to start the season.

In 47 AB Close & Late he slashed .234/.333/.596, suggesting his approach in high-pressure situations in the regular season was the same as his approach during the World Series.

The unanimous NL Rookie of the Year broke the record for most strikeouts in the postseason.

So did the unanimous AL Rookie of the Year, without benefit of the World Series.

Rookie makes WS record ... for strikeouts by a hitter with 17.  That breaks the old record (Ryan Howard / Javy Baez) by 4 (almost 25%).

Hopefully, his pitching coach can show him something.

At one point in game 7, Smoltz said, "Bellinger needs to move the runners along.  To do that, he has to take a swing that isn't going for the fences and doesn't chase the low fastball."

Next pitch, low-fastball that Bellinger tries to hit to NY.

Cody's slashing .200/.238/.550 in the Series. He's fanned in half of his ABs. In five games, he's managed to put the ball in play for the opposing fielders to chase after nine times.

The Dodgers as a team are slashing .213/.295/.438.

Snake-bit no more. A six-game losing streak in the regular season turns into a three-game sweep.

Bellinger topples into his own dugout, no one catches him, and he's fine.

That long swing of his sends yet another baseball over the fence the opposite way.

I am simply amazed with what Bellinger has done this season.

Hit HR number 33 last night, his 5th bomb in his last 8 games.

Ties the MLB record for most HR's in the first 93 games of a career (with Mark McGwire).

He currently leads MLB with a .617 SLG% and second in AB per HR at 10.5, and is doing this on the biggest stage for a team that is 80-33.

I really think he can hit 50 HR's because his swing is so effortless and the ball just jumps of his bat. And don't forget he did not make his MLB debut until April 25th.

The ROY is a given, but if he continues at this pace for a team that could win 110 games, he should be Freddy Lynn from 1975.

He doesn't just hit a lot of homers, he hits them in the clutch. His three-run shot in the 8th last night at home snatched a 6-4 victory from the jaws of defeat.

On an 0-2 pitch from a lefty.

He had less luck against Bartolo Colon, going 0-for-2.

Seventeen years ago his dad also went 0-for-2 against Colon.

Cody, it was revealed recently, has never heard of Jerry Seinfeld.

Some reactions from his temmates:

@Awood45 @Cody_Bellinger What can you expect? He's like 13 years old!

The only reason people are looking past this is because you hit so many homers lol 😂😂😂 https://twitter.com/cody_bellinger/status/878494427676721152

@Cody_Bellinger @notthefakeSVP if you weren't so good at baseball I'd petition the league to suspend you

Didn't realize how old Judge was until I compared him to Bellinger.  I bet the career projections greatly favor Bellinger.
