He went for $10 in Sportsline. He's been quite the first half hitter the last two years, and I do agree that players like Blake who come on the scene late often tend to leave early. Still, at $10 I think he'll be OK.

I agree, 16 is too high in 5x5. But Casey's a tough age 34, a favorite of Wedge, and Cleveland at the moment has no final decision on LF, RF and 3rd. Though Shapiro seems willing to stand pat, I think a trade will happen before opening day. Either way, without injury, Casey will get his 600-plus PAs. Marte, out of options, is only a backup. A bid of 11-12 allows a small profit, and with a guy like Casey, you've got to leave room for a profit.

Here's another case where the 5x5 bid is way out of line. He's earned $16 two straight years in 4x4 and less two of the previous 3 years. He doesn't score a lot of runs so his value has to be lower in 5x5. That and his age means the bid has to be lowered considerably.

Every year I seem to end up with this guy, and at all times I fear he could just drop off the earth. Now he's 34. I wouldn't touch him unless he's at a huge discount, bigger still than the ones I've gotten the past several years.
