Rotoworld:

07.25: According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the Twins are willing to listento trade offers for outfielder Byron Buxton(With another year to go before he hits free agency, there's no certainty that Buxton will be moved prior to the trade deadline, but the Twins are at least willing to hear other teams out after Buxton rejected their offer for a contract extension. Heyman notes that the Phillies are one team interested in the dynamic outfielder.)

Substances?  Yeah, they've been doing a great job keeping the HBP down the last couple of years.

Or not.

Only a masochist would post this video (Peter and I are among the mourners)...

... but Mahle has no reason to apologize. The pitch does exactly what it's supposed to, runs up and in an inch or or two. The batter is supposed to pull his hands in and duck away, and think twice about diving over the plate.

And possibly a victim of the "get tough" policy on substances.

Not every devastating injury should win the designation for "injury prone" or feed the idea that "good health is a skill." In this one, Buxton waived off the trainers, stayed in the game for two innings and was only taken out when he visibly winced catching a fly ball. All I can think about Buxton is that sadly he is the Pete Reiser of the 21st century.

Cursed.  Back two games and then hit by a pitch in the hand.

Terrible news. Just awful. It seems like every single year.

He's already matched his total number of LD from last year.

Then again - what's more likely by the end of the season -

Buxton .451 BABIP

DeGrom .261 BABIP against

It won't shock me at all to see DeGrom's BABIP within 10 points of the current at the end of the year.

It won't shock me to see Buxton with a BABIP 100 points lower than his current by the end of the year.

Buxton has already made a number of incredible diving catches as well as a few leaps to rob doubles, if not homers, at the top of the fence.

I said it on Opening Day. The caveat still applies.
