Hey. I'm not saying I wouldn't be upset, but if you play in the league you need to understand the rules and hence the risks. I'm sitting on Halladay so don't think I'm not sweating a few bullets.

My other issue is that if Easter was a week later than we would have drafted 2 weeks ago and he'd be in the same spot. I don't have a problem being upset. I just have a problem with him expecting that he could do something that wasn't in the rules.

Way to rub it in Kent! He says with a rueful smile. I need to get your medical reports person working for me.

On cue, I got an email from the owner asking if he can drop Wilson since he's out for the year which, of course, he can't.

I guess it's the way you have to play it when you draft so late. Philosophically, it's no different to lose a player the day before or the day after you hold your auction. Psychologically, it's a whole different ballgame.

If you look at it the right way, I suppose it could be liberating. Sure hope I never find out.

You don't get a drop for them coming up from the minors or the DL.

One guy has Morse and Harper. I already go the "Morse" injury part ... too bad I can't get the "Harper callup" by Saturday as well.

Ditto on Wilson(28)/Storen(9). I cut Lilly at 12 to avoid risk and, of course, he comes out and pitches a gem

In our leagues, if you protect a guy and he gets hurt, tough luck.

It's not like you get some kind of allowance during the season if you have a season-ending injury. It seems counterintuitive to allow this during the first week of the season.

In our league, we allow you to drop a player if he gets DL'd between the time protection decisions are made, and when the season starts.

Once the season starts ... just like stats that accrue are part of the game, injuries that occur are part of the game.

So the guy who was protecting Storen at $20 in our league had the option of dropping him (he didn't ... a decision he regretted a week later). But if you'd kept Wilson, you'd be out of luck once opening day passed.

He can't be unkept if you haven't even drafted yet?

My draft is Saturday.

Wilson was kept at 28 in a league with 15% inflation.
