Brent Honeywell (P) TB - May. 21

https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=740987

Honeywell underwent a decompression procedure on his right ulnar nerve Wednesday, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The surgery, which was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles, was to remove scar tissue from the area of the nerve. Honeywell is scheduled to begin strength and mobility exercises Monday in Port Charlotte. He is without a timetable to return to the mound, and given the fact he was coming back from a multi-year absence anyway, it is unlikely we see Honeywell pitching in the majors at any point in 2020.

Skinny: Two
seasons ago, Honeywell was on the cusp of the big leagues. Tommy John
surgery followed by a fractured elbow derailed him, however, and he’s
spent most of the interim in the training room. If he can put those
issues behind him and return to form, he should find his way into the
Rays’ plans in short order.
