AP's Hitter of the Day Culled From Baseball America's Daily Prospect Report:

Three hits, including a double and a homer, in the Double-A playoffs.

I think it's the payoffs, but BA is still refusing to name its choice of Hitter and Pitcher of the Day because of the "paucity of games."

In any event, Barnes had a solid regulasr season at Jacksonville, slashing .296/.406/.507 in 78 games. Before that, in the Florida State League, he hit .311/.380/.411 in 44 games. Perhaps the most interesting stats: 25/19 K/W in Single-A, 36/50 K/W in Double-A. He also was 8-for-8 in SB at Jacksonville.
