I would think particularly considering that Harper's 2018 WAR (1.3) was bettered by Soto (4.7), Robles (4.1), and Eaton (1.6) this year ...

Going to be a bit more difficult envisioning how to replace Rendon's 6.3 WAR this year ... or his 5.5 3-year average.

The point that's being made here in the DC metro in the sports media is that they got a pass on Harper, even at the time, and particularly now that they've won.  But you can't let that happen twice in a row.  Yes, the championship buys management a LOT of slack, but still . . .

He's a free agent, and you have to figure that every team is running the numbers on the free agent class using the same analysis, projections, and assumptions as this Washington Post story. If everybody is using the same numbers, they're all going to end up on the same page (except for the teams that are dumping). TLDR: $248.5M/7 Years.

Peter Kreutzer Rotoman

I have to admit, when he hit his homer, I thought, "Here they come."

So did 43,000 others sitting in the stands. It felt like -- and was, as it turned out -- the exact same script from the night before.

A Don Larsenesque game.

MarkA does your league penalize the last place team by taking away 1 or more keeper options for the next year auction to keep teams from tanking?

So we have the same team every year who finishes near the bottom  and makes SWING trades at the deadline which basically decides the league   NL only + Astros 5X5

Midseason trade

How about -  Kyle Tucker$10(  done nothing yet)$10  for Bryce Harper $41 (final year)

Victor Robles $10 and Corey Seager $15 (final year) for Anthony Rendon $34 (2nd year) and  Yuli Gurriel $12 (final year)  **This was a killer! 2 of the hottest hitters in the NL for most of the year..

1st trade to the eventual 1st place team.. Guess which one got Harper and his 20 HR's 60 RBIs.

2nd trade  to probable 3rd place team.  Moved up 3 spots  Guess who moved up?

The league with most teams out of the money and dont care let both of these trades through..

I am really pissed about it this year...Tell me if Im wrong!!

One game past the halfway mark, the Nationals fall back to .500 (41-41).

With two singles and his 18th homer, Rendon raises his slash stats to .310/.398/.610, his BABIP to .314, his G/L/F to 31/20/49, his earnings in both formats to $18.

He might have made the last number $19 if he hadn't been caught stealing.

I'm trying to think who has a better right-handed swing? Two more homers last night. One to center, one to left. Drew a walk, grounded hard to third, hit a fly ball to the fence in right center.
