Rating: a simple formula (H + .5 *BB+1.5*HR) / IP that is an excellent metric for seeing how well a pitcher pitched each year, regardless of the won-lost record or ERA; it's a better version of WHIP.
Ratio: WHIP on the same footing as ERA: 9*((H+BB)/IP). Some leagues prefer Ratio.
