Dealt Capps at breakfast before the auction $2 for Lorenzo Cain, also $2. Then, I drafted Aceves for $5 who could start the season closing in Boston. Couldn't be crazier.

I've also been offered Lorenzo Cain straight up $2 for my $2 Matt Capps. It would mean keeping either Adrian Gonzalez $35 or Ian Kinsler $32 as my final keeper. I think I'm more comfortable with the former, even though the latter will likely cost more in my particular auction which loves Kinsler.

Eugene, seems the profit will be there on Aviles with lots of upside, with Capps drop in K rate and Perkins looming you gotta worry. Go with the hitter as usual, plus you dont like saves though maybe it is ok if staring you in the face. Plus dont forget Mike G panned him. Good luck.

With the Weeks deal killed weeks ago, the same team came back to me with 2 of 3 for Capps $2 (5x5, 12 teams). Aviles $5, Arencibia $8, and/or Willingham $14. Aviles has a big upside. I couldn't do Arencibia and Willingham, the BAvg hit would be to severe.

What does the cogniscenti think?

Mike went hitting heavy (unlike him).

I am sure he will be providing a full analysis soon.

It still could happen. Perhaps he just went on a work trip.

Can't wait to see Mike's team. I have Weeks priced at $16 (same format). $15 is nice, but given the history of CBS, I would bet there are some really ripe bargains on the pitching side that make Weeks' $1-3 bargain price (based upon 5x5 prices in the software from Peter, mikeF, and my own) look like chump change.

He came to his senses, huh? That stinks.

Radio silence on the other end after I advised of my preference for Weeks. Perhaps the reassessment has begun.

So...I see Mike got Weeks at $15 in the CBS auction today. I told him I loved that price. He told me that he did as well.

Did you pull the trigger on that deal yet, Eugene?

Agree with the brain trust here. Column B doesn't matter here. I would go with Aviles because I think the profit will be there regardless of whether he starts or gets 350 AB filling in for an injured Youk/backing up at SS, playing OF or 1B.
