He was kept at $14 in my league and there are no throwbacks.

Racked today (1.2 IP/7 ER). I kept him at $9, and I'm sticking with it.

To those of us who key in on WHIP when looking for pitchers he's a gem. Most decent WHIP pitchers go much higher. (i.e. on better teams with far more wins) Also, he seems to consistently outperform the projection. (Though I am too lazy to back that up with real numbers.) That's based on hearing "he's washed up" more than once on these boards. I'd pay at least 15 for him as I dont' think he's as big a crapshoot as most pitchers.

His K/9 since 2001: 5.12, 5.05, 4.65, 6.05, 5.67, 4.32, 5.15. The 2007 number is a little lower than it was in his 2004-2005 earnings spike, but Buehrle's best year was 2001, when he put up a 3.29 ERA with that 5.12 K/9 ratio. I don't like buying pitchers who don't strike out a lot of guys - even in 4x4 - but whatever Buehrle's doing has worked for him, for the most part. I'd expect something in the range of 2003-2004, and pay on the low end of that spectrum.

All of those innings early in his career seem to have taken a toll. Although he got his Ratio, HR against, and ERA back in line with career numbers, his K rate was significantly lower than previous good years. That should be a point of concern.
