Two Picks, two Pans in the upcoming Guide.

Both pans from people who regularly post here.

GIANELLA PAN: Gonzalez had another solid
year and took a small step forward. However,
he still walks over four batter per nine, and
his high whiff/high walk style of pitching often
leads to either injury or flameout. Gonzalez
might be fine, but the warning signs say you
shouldn’t pay too much here.
PATTON PAN: Consensus eighth luckiest
starting pitcher in either league last year.
Averaging five different “should have been”
ERAs (ERC, xERA, FRA, FIP and xFIP), his ERA
should have been 3.72.

The idea of my pitching picks and pans is to ID ten supposedly lucky pitchers in 2011 and ten supposedly unlucky pitchers, pick the unlucky ones for 2012, pan the lucky ones, and see if it pans out.

Not sure if it works (as good fodder for the Guide) but that's he idea.
