If you prorate his stats every year to 157 games using Alex's 5x5 formula, he would still have never earned $30.

I have no problem paying $26-27. But anything past that and you're paying for the hope he gets better...and also for steals that might very well not be there.

I'm less concerned about the injuries and more concerned about Longoria's earning profile.

well, except he has not played a full season the last two years. Arguably hit well enough last year, given he earned that $16 in just 74 games. He was 20-25 games short in 2011, and would have pushed $30 if his BA came up over that span.

And now he will be 27. Good luck getting him cheaper.
