Saw him pitch last night for the first time and was really underwhelmed.

Also, need to see Waldis Joaquin here ... http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=MLB&id=4480 ... the "amatuer scouting report" I'm getting says ... He throws VERY hard, but I haven't seen much evidence of any control, I expect lots of Ks and BBs. I think he's just a younger Merkin Valdez. Definitely some big upside potential here. I think Runzler is much further ahead him, there wasn't much doubt about him being on the roster, Waldis was down to the last cut. |

Spring stats, for what they're worth: 10.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 5 BB, 17 K. Intriguing.

My impression of Bochy is that he relies on his veterans, but moves guys up when they produce (and turns on them when they don't). So, Runzler is likely to start out in a setup role, and should be mostly under the radar (unless you're in the bay area). Those 2009 numbers are pretty compelling; a good spring will compel me to a $5 bid limit, which should get him (and feel fine about someone else buying at $6). |

A Patton emoticon? Is that a first? Feels like it, and well said, my friend.

That Giants' pen sure looks like one of the league's best.
